Our Barley Beef Program
The Greenham Barley Beef (BB) Program is a free-range fodder-fed pathway for cattle raised according to NEVER EVER or Dairy Beef Program requirements and finished with access to a 50% barley ration for at least 90 days.
Designed to fill a market gap for year-round free-range, grainfed beef, the program showcases the stringent animal welfare practices and nutritious finishing diet fed by accredited producers.
What is the Barley Beef Program?
The Greenham Barley Beef On-farm Program was developed to deliver a grain finished product to the market that also ensures the a free-range environment and the highest animal welfare standards. Cattle are free to roam in open paddocks with access to a custom formulated barley ration via a mobile self-feeder.
- Barley FinishedCattle are finished on a customer formulated grain ration with a minimum of 50% barley. Access to barley is through a mobile self-feeder so that cattle are free to roam in a natural environment.
- Third-Party AuditedProducers participating in our programs undergo rigorous third-party audits to ensure they meet all program requirements. These audits, conducted independently by Livestock Integrity Solutions Australasia, are repeated periodically to maintain accreditation.

Claims & Requirements
Lifetime traceable
Cattle must be individually traceable for their whole lives. Traceability can be recorded using NLIS tags and further strengthened by farm management tags and on-farm record keeping.
Barley finished
Livestock should be raised on pasture and finished on a barley ration.
Lifetime antibiotic-free
Includes therapeutic antibiotics and ionophores (e.g. Rumensin) in lick blocks and feed but not drenches.
No added hormones
Livestock must be HGP-free and not fed finishing diets that contain steroids.
Free range
Never confined to a feedlot.
